FAQs About Auto Body Work

At Leon Pierce Body Repair, we are asked many questions about our auto body repair services. See below for some of the questions that we hear the most. If you have a question that is not answered on this page, please call us!

Leon Pierce Body Repair Questions

1. Do I need an estimate first?

When your vehicle is damaged in a collision, an estimate is not the first thing that you should obtain. The first order of business is to determine who will pay for the damage. In most cases, your vehicle will require some disassembly of damaged parts in order for us to produce an accurate estimate of your damage.

Because of this, the estimating process is affected by the needs of the paying party. All insurance companies have different claims procedures and we will let you know the most efficient way to handle your claim. In addition, we will assist you with the claims process. You don't need to run around wasting your time gathering estimates and claims handling.

Many times, it is better to leave the car with us and have the insurance company inspect it with us; this can prevent discrepancies that may delay repairs. At Leon Pierce Body Repair, we provide FREE, computerized estimates.
2. What information should I bring to the shop?

Bring your insurance company claim number and the name of the contact person. We will take it from there.
3. How long will it take?

That depends on the extent of the damage. However, Leon Pierce Body Repair has great turnaround time on body repairs. We avoid the backups that plague so many other repair facilities. Efficient scheduling, industry training, LEAN manufacturing techniques, as well as our cycle time reduction system helps to ensure on-time delivery.
4. What results can I expect?

Expect the best. Leon Pierce Body Repair features factory assembly equipment and technicians who are I-CAR-, ASE- and factory-trained, all designed to precisely restore your vehicle to the highest industry standards.
5. Can I get alternative transportation while my vehicle is being repaired?

As a customer of Leon Pierce Body Repair, you will be treated to a courtesy ride to your home or office. In addition, we can assist you in arranging for a rental car.

Repair Questions

1. Is it difficult to match the color on my vehicle?

Yes, it can be difficult to match today's high-tech finishes. At Leon Pierce Body Repair, we use computerized paint mixing equipment that allows our technicians to perfectly match your vehicle's paint. Color match is our guarantee.

2. How soon after repairs may I wash my car?

It may be hand washed right away. We do, however, ask that you wait 30 days after repairs to wax your car.
3. How do you dispose of your waste?

All waste is recycled whenever possible. The balance is shipped with an EPA-approved hauler to a redemption center that converts it to a safe fuel product.

Payment Questions

1. If I have a deductible, how is it paid?

Your deductible is collected when you come to pick up your completed vehicle. We accept cash, check, Visa and Mastercard.

Insurance Questions

1. Will my rate be increased?

We really can't tell if your rates will be increased or not, since we only handle the repair of your vehicle. Your agent or insurance company should be able to tell you if your rates will change.
2. Since the other party is at fault why do I have to pay my deductible?

Your deductible is what you agreed to pay when you purchased your policy. If you are pursuing a claim under your policy, you may have a deductible. If the other party is at fault, your insurance company should try to pursue reimbursement of your deductible through that other party.
3. What if I need a rental vehicle?

Insured party: If your insurance company is paying for the repairs you may have an endorsement for Loss of Use on your policy. Your insurance policy will spell out the amount of rental coverage exactly. Ask your insurance claims representative for details. No rental coverage? Ask us, we’ll try to help!

Claimants: If the other party is paying for the repairs, they will also reimburse you for reasonable transportation while your vehicle is in the repair facility. This should include the daily rate and daily license fee, plus tax. Insurance on your personal vehicle may extend to your rental vehicle, so we recommend that you check with your insurance company.

In either case, Leon Pierce Body Repair will arrange for your rental — just ask!
4. What does it mean if my vehicle is a total loss?

It means that it would not be cost effective to have the vehicle repaired due to the damages it sustained.
5. What happens when my vehicle is deemed a total loss?

The insurance company has their Total Loss Specialist run a local market valuation specific to the year, make, model, condition and mileage of your vehicle. The specialist will then contact you regarding the valuation. This should include the vehicle replacement cost and tax and license fees. If your vehicle is a total loss, make sure to remove all of your personal belongings in a timely manner because your vehicle will be moved to a salvage auction.
